— Common use cases

What operators use the 53ʹ HC for.

  • Maximum volume per unit for storage operators — 3,970 cubic feet in one box
  • North American domestic rail (double-stack) and over-the-road trucking
  • Large-footprint job-site storage and staging
  • Long or bulky cargo that will not fit a 40ʹ or 45ʹ
— Important notes

Caveats and details worth knowing.

  • Not an ISO ocean container. 53-foot units are built for North American rail and trucking and do not move on international ocean vessels.
  • At 102 inches wide, a 53ʹ is about six inches wider than an ISO container. Confirm site access and chassis before delivery.
  • Lifted at the 40-foot position corner fittings, or by straddle forklift at the lifting pads.
— Grades we carry

Available across our condition grades.

New-build production runs are NEW (one-trip) by definition. Used inventory in the 53ʹ HC format is held in depots at varying grades — exact availability in the live matrix.

  • NEW — one-trip from the factory
  • 3-TRP — three-trip, near-new
  • IICL — survey-grade, pulled from active fleets
  • CW — cargo worthy, CSC-valid for international
  • WWT — wind & watertight, storage-grade
  • AS-IS — sold as-found, no guarantee
